The locking assembly provides a reliable, high-strength keyless connection by converting the locking screw clamping load into radial contraction pressure applied to both the shaft and the bore of the mounting component. The resulting zero-backlash mechanical interference fit will accommodate high torque, thrust, bending and radial loads and, unlike other mounting techniques, will not wear or damage, even with high cyclic fluctuations or reverse loads.
